Extension Tubes DIY – Budget Macro Photography
This extension tubes DIY video shows you how you can do macro photography on a budget! In our previous posts, we had discussed how you can reverse your lens in order to get closer to your subject. Todays video further expands on that technique and will teach you how you can make your very own extension tube.
When combining the reverse lens technique with an extension tube, it will allow you to get even closer to your subject, thereby allowing you to take macro photos of subjects that are larger than life size (eg. greater than 1:1 magnification ratio)! It will reveal things that you would have never seen with your naked eyes and will give you a glimpse of the macro photography world.
In the extension tubes DIY video from Make Magazine, you will require the following to create your very own extension tube –
- Camera Body Cap
- Pringles Can
- Black cloth / felt
- Black Spray Paint
- Tools to Cut and Sand your body cap and pringles can
- Hot Glue

Wasn’t that an interesting extension tubes DIY video? This would be a great weekend project for you to try at home. Remember to clean the pringles tube thoroughly as you would not want any dust or particles getting into your camera or lens. If you found this video useful please share it with your friends and family!
