Product Advisory / Recall Notice – Canon EOS-1D X & EOS-1D C

Canon issued a product advisory/recall for two of their cameras earlier in the week today. If you own a Canon EOS-1D X Digital SLR Camera or EOS-1D C Cinema EOS Camera make sure you check to see if your camera is affected.

It has been reported that the lack of lubricant within the camera’s driving mechanism may result in the following issues –

1. Your auto focus searches but does not lock in on your subject

2. The image in your viewfinder is blurry or not steady

If you are affected, the good news is that Canon will repair this free of charge. So please make sure you follow Canon’s advisory notice to diagnose whether you are affected. Here are the  details and instructions from Canon‘s website –

This notice is to proactively inform our customers of the details of the phenomena described below along with Canon’s support actions. Because we value the trust our customers have placed in us, we are dedicated to continuously improving product quality and delivering industry-leading service and support.
