Macro Photography Idea – Create a Natural Indoor Studio

If you love macro photography and you do not have access to a garden or a luscious forest near you, then this video by John Koerner is for you. It is a great macro photography idea and it teaches you how to create natural indoor studio macro photography shots in the comfort of your home or apartment.

It is a simple macro photography technique and all you need is the following equipment –

  1. Tripod
  2. A Plamp – This is essentially a helping arm that will clamp onto subject (eg. flower stem) to hold it in place. Read more about it on Amazon.
  3. A nice green Leaf as the background
  4. Remote switch – This will help to reduce camera shake so you can achieve sharp photos

Before you watch the video, here is a tip that you should keep in mind… Only introduce your live subject into the shot once you have prepared for the shot by setting up your camera, composition and have your focus ready at the right spot. Sometimes, your subject will not hold still long enough for you to take that perfect shot, so it is important to have everything ready before you introduce the live subject.
