As you may already know, using a tripod fixture, like the Manfrotto 454 Micropositioning Plate can be helpful when you are shooting photographs with a very high level of magnification. It’s always nice to be able to rack your focus, rather than using the lens alone when you are shooting very close up shots. And while we do believe that serious macro photographers would do well to add a nice micropositioning plate to their photography arsenal, judging by Graham’s review of this macro lens, you may want to search around for a different model.
We did a bit of additional research and did find that there were some photographers who said they had no problems with this plate. However, you need to weigh the available online reviews against what we presented to you in today’s macro photography video post to decide whether or not you should purchase this particular micropositioning plate.
